Necklace Dimensions: 12" from the clasp to the bottom of the lillies. The width is 3 1/4" from bird to bird, and at the bottom of the frame where the water lilies are hanging it is 4 1/4" wide.
Description: When Helen Klebesadel, the amazing watercolorist, and I were offered a joint exhibition, we decided to do something quite literally “off the wall”. We put our heads together and came up with an idea that would combine a painting with a piece of jewelry; hang the painting on the wall and hang the necklace on the painting. So you can adorn your body and also adorn your wall!
We both love Egyptian artifacts, and I had made a pectoral in the style of ancient Egyptian jewelry so we decided to use that as the focal point of our collaborative piece. The necklace is made of sterling silver and has many of the elements found in Egyptian jewelry: falcons, snakes, water lilies, a crescent moon, beads representing water and turquoise gemstones. Helen painted her love of moonlight and surrounded the necklace with a dreamy world where the mood and the design and the beauty of both pieces is enhanced.
This is the result of our collaboration, which we call EGYPTIAN DREAM.
